I’ve been working from home permanently now for 2 years and I have to say, I LOVE it. Don’t get me wrong, I didn’t have any doubts that I wouldn’t love it. It’s just the idea vs. in-practice, I have so much more time! But working from home can be tricky if you don’t have a set plan and stay organized. These 13 items are perfect for my home office. Check them out:

  1. Planner- You need a planner to keep you organized plan and simple. My favorite planner right now is CGD London Daily Planner– This undated, 2 page spread, daily planner is PERFECT for working from home and in the office. It covers all of your bases: Date, Daily Quote, A whole page for writing your schedule and to-do list, Meal Plan, Expenses and Shopping List, Water intake, self-care, exercise, and a section for personal notes. It is my Monday-Friday planner, basically solely for work. I really get stuff done with this book. And their color options are so cute! I’m going to try their binder system next year when I’m ready for a new planner. Some other planners I’ve tried and loved are Lilly Pulitzer weekly planner, Savor Beauty My Next 90 Days planner, and Erin Condren weekly planner.
  2. Phone Stand– It helps if the stand charges your phone too. Having my phone on a stand makes it easy to see when a notification pops up but it also keeps it out of my immediate reach so I don’t mess with it. Of course mine currently matches my acrylic theme.
  3. Notepad- This is important for quick notes, meeting notes, and brainstorming ideas. I have several notebooks I love and recommend: Five-Star has some cute designed notebooks, Lilly Pulitzer notebooks, Erin Condren softbound notebooks, and Leuchtturm 1917 notebooks.
  4. Mouse pad- I have a super adorable tropical themed mouse pad from Nordstrom Rack which I use for my blog desk set up and a Kate Spade mouse pad (I got on sale) at my work desk.
  5. Sharpie Pens- The only pen I cannot live without! They are amazing and I will swear by them until the day I die. They write so smoothly and they last a while. I buy them in packs and keep them all over the house and I keep plenty at my desk. Currently obsessed with the S-Gel 0.5mm click top pen.
  6. Zebra Midliner Highlighters– I have every color, all of 25 of them. I use them everyday and just like the sharpie pens I cannot live without them. I love that they are double sided with a thick and thin tip.
  7. Hard Candy- I swear whenever I’m having trouble focusing and I pop a lemon drop or lime jolly rancher into my mouth, suddenly I have an easier time staying on task. I prefer citrus hard candies. TJ Maxx has some great ones from Germany in these precious tins. And I always find the best jolly rancher flavors at Walmart.
  8. Colorful Pens- Stabilo, PaperMate Felt Liners, and Zebra Clickart Retractable Marker Pen. For a very precise and thin line I use the stabilo pens, and there are like 40 something colors. These pens are a little sentimental to me too because I remember buying my first set at the market in my neighborhood in Germany. For a smooth writing experience I like to use the PaperMate Felt Liners or the Zebra Clickart pens which also come in a wide variety of colors.
  9. Post-it Notes– Like everything I have post-it notes in several colors and sizes. They are perfect for writing reminders or prioritizing tasks. I also use them to mark pages in books. I store the normal sized ones on my desk for easy access in a Rae Dunn note holder.
  10. Focus Aromatherapy Lotion- I LOVE Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy line. The lotions, body washes, sprays, and message oils. It’s all amazing. And I love the elegance of the glass bottle and easy to use pump. I choose the Focus scent for work because obviously, I want to stay focused.
  11. Candle- Sand & Fog candles from TJ Maxx/Marshall/Homegoods are the absolute best! The large ones are BIG but they also have medium and small sizes. The scents are fabulous and they look so chic.
  12. Acrylic dry/erase board– A dry/erase board is essential for your office, it can be on your desk or hanging on the wall. I use this for important reminders, quotes, and my birth chart. My acrylic board goes with the theme of my desk and I found it at Amazon.
  13. Acrylic Laptop and monitor displays- Also found on Amazon, I use these to display my laptop and 2 monitors neatly on my desk. The laptop positioning gives a good angle for video meetings, which I love.

These are just some of the cute and essential items I cannot live without while working from home. They keep me on task, working hard, and most importantly they are asthetically pleasing. Are you a fan of these work-from-home essentials too? Did I miss any you can’t live without? What are your favorite, must-have work from home items?
