The Best Products For Fighting Period Pain

Periods can be the worst! And as someone who has been menstruating for almost 20 years now, I’ve gone through the many ways to alleviate the pain of cramps. As I sit here, currently dealing with my period pain, I decided maybe it’s time to share some of my favorite pain relief products. For me, the pain of cramps in inevitable, and it’s all about finding a way to lessen the pain and fighting through it. I have not yet found the magical thing that immediately and forever relives the cramps, it’s got to be out there somewhere right?? Until I do, here are the products that make the period pain easier to deal with:

Lifesaving Period Pain Products

  • Heating Pad – Let me go ahead and specify right away, an electric heating pad. The heating/cooling pads you can throw in the freezer or microwave are great because of the versatility. The only problem with them is, you have to keep running back to the microwave to heat it up. An electric one allows for different heat settings and doesn’t cool down until you’re ready for it. I would recommend one that shuts off automatically after awhile, so you don’t accidently start a fire. The one I use is from Pure Enrichment and I use it every month without fail. It’s also great if you’re someone who’s always cold and needs extra warmth, especially in the winter.
  • Midol – Duh, right? Maybe for some but I didn’t take Midol for cramps until my husband (then boyfriend) picked some up for me. I honestly believe Midol does a better job than Advil, Aleve, etc. at relieving cramps. Recently I saw that my Costco was selling a Costco-sized bottle that includes 100 caplets, thank you Costco!
  • Raspberry Leaf Tea – This is a newer one for me but I have noticed a difference when I drink this tea during that time of the month. Raspberry leaf tea has amazing benefits for women, besides helping with cramps, like supporting pregnancy and it’s generally good for the female reproductive system. Since my husband and I are TTC (trying to conceive) it’s the perfect tea for me to get into.

That’s All Folks

Those are the 3 products I use consistently to kick period pain to the curb. There are other things I’ve found to help manage my period symptoms, like certain foods, self-care, and rest, but I’ll save those for another post. In the meantime, you can check out my Meditation Corner post, because I find meditation can help with pain management.

So tell me, what products have you come across that help your period pain? Have you tried any of the above 3 items? Let me know in the comments how you deal with your period because sharing is caring. We’ve got to look out for each other!
